Keep the Chemung River Watershed clean and accessible!

We are proud to have one of the cleanest waterways in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Since 2009, we have worked tirelessly to clean the watershed, to educate our community, and to make sure that everyone can enjoy the river safely and responsibly. Jim Pfiffer is the founder of Chemung River Friends, and he believed that to make progress we had to "paddle together." Our current director, Liz Zilinski, continues to promote his vision of a community where everyone understands their special part in the work that we do.

Whether you are in favor of regular clean-ups of our river and her trails, teaching children and adults river and water safety, supplying local fire departments with river rescue training and supplies, bringing schools down to the water to learn about the river ecosystem in hands-on science programs, or you just want to make sure that we have outfitters available to provide kayaks, canoes, and waterboards for you and your friends and family, your donation will have a long-lasting, measurable impact with the Friends of the Chemung River Watershed.
